Mrs. Sommers

My name is Kelsey Sommers and I am one of the PreK teachers at Eakin Elementary.

 

I have been teaching in Bedford County since 2014. I spent 7 years at East Side Elementary School before coming to Eakin Elementary. I have taught 3rd grade, 1st grade and ESL K-12th grade. I also spent a year at the Bedford County Learning Academy (BCLA) teaching ESL at the middle school and high school level.

 

I have been at Eakin teaching PreK since 2021 and I absolutely love it! 

 

 

Bachelor's Degree from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU)--Early Childhood Education (PreK-3rd Grade)

Master’s Degree from Cumberland University--Curriculum and Instruction (K-6th Grade)

ESL Endorsement from Trevecca University--English as a Second Language (K-12th Grade)

 

Family:

 

I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have two boys. My family and I love spending time outside. We love going to the lake, river, the beach, and the pool. We also love riding dirt bikes and just playing in the yard. Both of our boys play baseball so during the week and on the weekends we spend a lot of time at the ball field!
