💙❤️ Honoring Our Heroes❤️💙
Across #BedfordCountySchools, #students and staff recently came together to celebrate and honor the brave men and women who have served our country. ❤️💙
Each of our schools found meaningful ways to show their appreciation — from heartfelt messages to special gatherings that paid tribute to our Veterans.
We’re proud to share just a few highlights from across the district, because we truly love our Veterans! #ThankYou to everyone who helped make these celebrations so special!🫶

Thankful for the Kindness That Warms Our Students and Our Community🧥
Our community came together once again for the 3rd Annual Coat Drive hosted by New Vision Baptist Church, and thanks to your generosity, dozens of #students across #BedfordCountySchools will stay warm this winter. This year, an incredible 107 new coats—along with many more gently used ones—were donated to help keep kids cozy through the cold months. ❄️🧤
We want to send a special #ThankYou to New Vision Baptist Church and #CommunityHighSchool alumna Haley Mitchell for leading this heartwarming effort and inspiring others to give back.❤️Thank you to our maintenance team for pickup and delivery!
We are so grateful for the kindness, compassion and community spirit that make a difference every single year.

At #EakinElementarySchool, mornings begin with energy and connection. Students and staff come together in the gym for announcements, bringing excitement and positivity to start the day.
Recently, all district principals and supervisors were invited to watch this innovative approach in action, recognizing Eakin as a model for the district! 🎉
Every morning ends with a powerful reminder, first said in Spanish and then repeated in English: "I am loved, I am seen, and I am heard." ❤️
And of course, #students affirm: "I am an Eakin Einstein!"✨
More than announcements, this is a daily dose of confidence, pride and inspiration.

Celebrating Readers at Eakin Elementary!
Students at #EakinElementarySchool are turning the page on a brand-new way to celebrate their love of reading! Thanks to generous donations from the #KiwanisClubOfBedfordCounty and #CooperSteel, the school is now home to a book vending machine — where students can earn special coins to “purchase” a brand-new book to keep. Kiwanis Club bought the machine, and Cooper Steel is stocking the books!
As part of Cooper Steel's reading program, #students were challenged to read 1,000 minutes to earn their first vending coin. Their hard work and dedication paid off and the excitement on their faces as they selected their books said it all! A heartfelt #ThankYou goes out to the Kiwanis Club and Cooper Steel for their generous support and commitment to fostering a love of literacy. Together, we’re helping every child discover that reading truly opens up a world of possibilities! #ReadingMatters #Generous #CommunitySupport #EakinEinsteins #LovedSeenHeard #BedfordCountySchools
Teachers from across #BedfordCountySchools—including #EastSideElementarySchool, #HarrisMiddleSchool, #LearningWayElementarySchool and #ShelbyvilleCentralHighSchool recently came together for SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) training!
The SIOP model is a research-based approach designed to make grade-level academic content clear, engaging and accessible for multilingual learners—while enhancing learning for all #students. 🌍📚
By implementing SIOP strategies, our educators are ensuring that every classroom offers rigorous, inclusive instruction aligned with state standards. We’re #BedfordProud of their dedication to helping all learners succeed! 💪✨

Today, we honor a beautiful tradition that reminds us to celebrate the lives and memories of those who came before us. 🌸
