First grade students completed animal research projects as part of their skills and knowledge unit. They created detailed habitat dioramas and proudly presented their learning. Students shared their research by reading their reports and showcasing their dioramas to kindergarten and preschool classes. It was a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, strengthen literacy skills, and celebrate their hard work!

Eakin Elementary is excited to welcome Aaron White from The Center for Family Development as a special guest speaker in celebration of Black History Month. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from a leader who is actively making a difference in our community. Mr. White submitted the proposal on behalf of The Fly Arts Center to bring the free Levitt AMP Music Series to Shelbyville. This initiative will provide access to high-quality, live music experiences for our community at no cost. 👟✨ BCS Is Stepping Up! ✨👟

We’re partnering with #Soles4Souls to host a district-wide shoe drive and TODAY is your last chance to donate!

From January 20 – February 28, we’ll be collecting NEW and GENTLY USED shoes to support people around the world. These shoes will support the Soles4Souls’ 4OPPORTUNITY program, which helps people in countries like Haiti, Honduras and parts of Africa create small businesses selling shoes and clothing to earn a living.

We are excited to partner with Soles4Souls, who has generously donated new, brand-name athletic shoes through their 4EVERYKID program, helping #BedfordCountySchools McKinney-Vento students.

📍Shoe collection bins are in each of our schools and at the Central Office.

Let’s give back—one step at a time! 💙

Thank you for helping us support #students, families and communities around the world.
