Have a great Spring Break, Eakin Einsteins!

Our 5th grade students have been busy exploring the solar system, and their models did not disappoint! From creative designs to detailed representations of the planets, students showcased both their knowledge and their imagination.
One project even featured a 3D-printed model, taking learning to the next level! 🚀
We love seeing students apply what they’ve learned in such hands-on and innovative ways. Great job, 5th grade!

Their teachers and an administrator spent time in classrooms observing student-centered instruction and seeing standards-aligned success criteria in action. It was a great opportunity to highlight the strong work our teachers are doing to ensure students understand their learning goals and take ownership of their progress.
We’re proud to share the great things happening at Eakin and always enjoy learning alongside other educators. Thank you to SCHS for visiting. We loved having you! 💙💚

We are so proud to recognize three incredible members of our Eakin team who go above and beyond every single day:
✨ Jessica Caceres – Office Assistant of the Year
✨ Michelle Miller – Special Education Assistant of the Year
✨ Meghan Messick – General Education Assistant of the Year
Each of these amazing individuals plays a vital role in supporting our students, staff, and school community. Whether they’re keeping things running smoothly in the office, providing essential support to students, or jumping in wherever needed, their impact is felt throughout our building.
Eakin is a better place because of you! Thank you for your dedication, heart, and commitment to our students. 💙💚

📚🏆 March Book Madness Champion! 🏆📚
We have a winner! After weeks of reading, voting, and some very strong opinions 😊, our March Book Madness champion is… I am Ingrid!
Our students loved this powerful story, and it quickly became a favorite across grade levels. It’s been so fun to see their excitement, hear their discussions, and watch them cheer on their favorite books each round.
Thank you to everyone who participated and to Mrs. Gordon who helped make this such a great celebration of reading! 📖💙

📚✨ Stitching Encouragement into Every Page! ✨📚
The Shelbyville branch of the Embroidery Guild of America (EGA) recently shared their talents in a meaningful way with handstitched bookmarks for reading interventionists to use as rewards for #students reading progress. 🧵❤️
Founded in 1958 to foster the art of needlework and related arts, EGA continues to make a positive impact in our community. EGA member and #BedfordCountySchools ESL & Instructional Support Coordinator, Kathy Reed, visited #CartwrightElementarySchool, #CommunityElementarySchool, #EakinElementarySchool, #EastSideElementarySchool and #LearningWayElementarySchool to deliver these special bookmarks, which are already inspiring students to keep turning pages and reaching new goals! 🌟
