Please remember that there will be NO after-school tutoring on Monday.

There will be NO SCHOOL for students on Thursday, but we hope to see you at Parent-Teacher Conferences!
Our conferences will be student-led, giving students the opportunity to share their learning, celebrate their accomplishments, and discuss their goals with you.
Please bring your child to your conference! If you are unsure of your scheduled conference time, please reach out to your child's teacher.

These flashcards help students strengthen their multiplication skills while building a foundation for future math success.
Beyond this annual initiative, Homework Hotline provides Tennessee students in grades K–12 with free, one-on-one virtual tutoring in core subjects, connecting them with licensed Tennessee teachers for homework help and scheduled tutoring.

Today, warmth and generosity filled the halls of Eakin Elementary School as every #student received a brand-new winter coat, hat, gloves, book, a toothbrush and a bag during the Operation Warm Coat distribution event! 🧥🧤📚🎒
These gifts go beyond their material value—they bring warmth, confidence and encouragement to #students as winter approaches. 💫
We want to send a heartfelt #ThankYou to the generous #CommunityPartners whose remarkable contributions made this event possible: an anonymous local benefactor, Greg and Eileen Vick, Operation Warm, Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, the World Literacy Foundation and five BELOW Shelbyville. Their collaboration in providing coats, winter accessories, books, a toothbrush and bags ensured that every student left the event feeling cared for, supported and inspired. ❤️
We also want to extended our deepest gratitude to the many volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to making this event a success. Their efforts truly made a difference and brightened the lives of so many. 💗

Shelbyville Central High School HOSA – Future Health Professionals students recently brought their healthcare knowledge and skills to approximately 170 first graders at Cartwright Elementary School and Eakin Elementary School!
Under the direction of instructor Becky Davis, HOSA #students led hands-on lessons focused on the human body, including learning how to check a pulse and listen to a heartbeat, practicing age-appropriate CPR skills, learning when to call 911 and exploring a variety of healthcare careers. 🫀🩺🚑
The HOSA students also shared handmade coloring books, stethoscopes, heart bandages, PPE stickers and health-related fidget spinners with the first graders. 🎨❤️
By sharing what they have learned, these future health professionals are helping younger students build important skills for emergencies while also giving them an early look at the many possibilities within healthcare careers. 🌟

BANANAS. 🍌🎶 Yes… BANANAS! And somehow, our 4th graders turned that one word into a song!
Our #EakinElementarySchool 4th graders took songwriting to a whole new level during an unforgettable field trip to the Country Music Hall of Fame! 🤠🎵
With the help of local songwriters, students brainstormed, collaborated, and transformed one unexpected word into an original tune that had everyone singing along:
🎵 “Bananas, bananas, I love you a bunch...
Bananas, bananas, you appeal to me…” 🎵
And let's just say… that catchy chorus followed us for the rest of the day! 😂🍌
Students also had the opportunity to learn about inspiring artists and explore the evolution of country music - from classic country to today’s sounds - right here in Music City.
What an incredible experience to show our students that writing isn't just about putting words on a page. Writing can be music. Writing can be collaboration. Writing can be fun. ❤️🎶
And sometimes, all it takes is a bunch of bananas. 🍌🎵
